FTI Completes North Americas Largest Applications Lab

FONON TECHNOLOGY INTERNATIONAL - LAKE MARY, FL., AUGUST 16, 2008 - Laser Photonics LLC, the largest division of Fonon Technology International, is proud to announce the completion of its state of the art application processing lab.  This lab is where clients and potential customers send their product as samples to be processed by a specific laser system.  The lab is 65,000 square feet including the newly refurbished clean room.  This lab will eventually include over 20 laser systems and Laser Photonics will now be able to process customer samples within a week.  The systems will be used for processing all cutting, marking and deep engraving applications using lasers up to 5kw.  These systems are equipped with both CO2 and fiber lasers and will be used to process almost every type of material.

“This completion is a major step forward for Laser Photonics LLC in our goal to turn around our customer samples as quickly as possible.  In the past, we have been constrained by limited space, but now we have the resources to exceed our customer’s expectations.” states Wayne Tupuola, VP of Operations.  Due to the size of the Laser Photonics product line it is essential to have a large applications lab to be able to process the hundreds of samples received monthly.  Sample processing is one of the most important steps in the sales process.  Every sample can now be performed on the correct machine, video taped, logged into the database and sent back out.

The applications lab includes a brand new clean room containing state of the art equipment.  This room is solely used for applications which need to be performed in special conditions.  This gives Laser Photonics the ability to use there systems to their upmost ability and utilize all the benefits of their products. This clean room is home the Fonon Flat Panel Display and Semiconductor laser systems which perform such tasks as glass and wafer dicing, ITO and coating removal. There is also a dedicated section to research and development for laser scribing of solar panels for Advanced Solar Photonics which is $17.2 billion industry.
